I raised this question in the office and a debate for 10 minutes started! The up shot being; it depends on whether you like thin french fry style chips or fat chunky chips...? For a thin chip, The Welcome is your destination. The new La Galette cafe on Darling Street has a sensational medium sized tripple fried chip but officially and according to a recent SMH pole, The Riverview Hotel has the best chips.
