No boardwalk, nor walking tracks, but near Apollo Road and along the waterfront from there, the road is extremely quiet, so easy walking until you get to Vic Lucas park at the end of the Tugulawa peninsula, then you can walk (again no boardwalk) to the Ferry at Oxford street. From there there is boardwalk for most of the way to Hawthorne ferry. A beautiful walk, ride or run
