Public transport/ traffic

Hi all,
My husband and I are moving from SYD to Balmoral. I am wondering how the public transport is in there? I have mixed reviews with some people (not locals) mentioning it's better to drive. I can see via Google buses available.
We only have 1 car, I will be working in Stones Corner and he will in the CBD.
