Orange v's Bathurst

I'm comparing Orange to Bathurst for my family and I wanted to know more about high schools (State or Catholic), primary schools and also sporting teams like netball, soccer (girls) and maybe swimming teams.

What sort of activities are there for teenagers?

Anything else to add would be helpful.

Cheers.

I can only comment on Bathurst. Netball, basketball, hockey and cycling are very popular for girls. Not sure about soccer for teenagers but young girls do play it. The catholic school for girls is McKillop. There are also two public high schools (Bathurst preferred over Kelso) and other private schools (Scott’s All Saints) . Bathurst has an excellent swimming pool, ten pin bowling and two shopping centres, plus KFC, McDonalds etc. Most teenagers are involved in sport. Advantage of Bathurst is it does have daily direct train services to Sydney (2 in the morning to Sydney and 2 in the afternoon/evening back) so if you trust your teenagers on the train they can get to Sydney on their own and might not feel so isolated. For young adults there is an active music/restaurant scene because of all the Charles Sturt University students.
