Going by the test score ratings, they appear to be okay. Beacon High School's don't look too bad. Forrestal Elementary's math scores are are a little below where they should be as mentioned above but the other elementaries look alright. Rombout Middle School seems to be at or above average.

Class sizes in some schools (e.g. Rombout and Beacon HS) look a little over average but they're not exceedingly high.

All of them at least appear to have something going on with regards to extracurricular activities, such as sports teams, band/chorus, ceramics, school newspapers, etc.

You don't typically hear of any incidents going on around here either, so I'm under the impression that they're safe environments.

I've heard some very good things about the schools in Beacon, which is one of the reasons I moved here. I don't have kids yet, but I think they'll do well at Anderson School, Beacon High School looks like a lot of fun, and Rombout Middle School has also received high marks from friends who have children attending.

The schools are good- though the surronding districts tend to outperform it. The dropout rate for high schools is 4%; nationally it's 4.4%. At the elementary level, the students have tested below state averages, but only slightly.
