Reviews of Belgian Gardens, QLD
"Why I love Belgian Gardens"
Belgian Gardens is a pretty suburb with great shops and school. Both my children went to Belgian Gardens school. It is a small school at the base of Castle Hill so there is plenty of greenery at the school. It is a lovely school with many families from the surrounding suburbs using it as first choice for their children to attend primary school there. Many of the kids then go on to attend either Townsville Grammar or Pimlico High School for secondary schooling. Emphasis on Hair (on Buncock St) is a wonderful hair salon that I have been going to for over 10 years now. It is very popular with locals that live on this side of the hill. Butcher on Bundock is raved about by every one in Townsville and has an outstanding array of meats and specialties to make entertaining simple. Right next door is Essentially Fresh Deli which has amazingly fresh fruit and veges and a great range of specialty items which are great for entertaining. Across the road is Medical Centre that is open to 11pm, dentist, gym, and much more. There is a great post office down the road with really friendly staff. Fish And Chip Shop, Thai Restaurants, mini marts, and so on. You don't have to leave the suburb because it has everything there, but it is so close to the Strand, Castle Hill, Castletown Shopping Centre and the CBD.

"Belgian Gardens facts"
Belgian Gardens in an inner city suburb, 5 km from the Central Business district in Townsville, Queensland Australia. It is a suburban area and has restricted zoning laws to reduce the amount of corporate buildings and apartments. It is home to the Belgian Gardens State School. It also has the Belgian Gardens Cemetery and is adjacent to Rowes Bay and many kilometres of beach front parkland. Before the advent of World War I, the suburb was named 'German Gardens'. However, during the course of the war the suburb was renamed to 'Belgian Gardens'.
