"Undiscovered coastal gem"

One of the smaller towns on the western port bay side of the Mornington peninsula - the quieter and less known side - but still offering great access to all the attractions and benefits of the peninsula coastal lifestyle without the high prices - and a short commute to the city

"A quiet friendly town"

We moved to bittern 5 years ago and have enjoyed it here. Our children don't go to the local school so i can not give a review on that unfortunately. The new shops have been built and we are really looking forward to getting a IGA supermarket, i am sick of having to travel to hastings or Balnarring if I've run out of something. We enjoy walking to the Market on sunday mornings to have a look around and grab a coffee. Walking tracks are ok, could be improved though. There are a few small parks here and there for the kids. Everyone seems to be very friendly and won't hesitate to say hello. I feel its safe place for our children, sometimes our teenage son will complain its boring here, but i like that he can't go hang out at a major shopping mall and find trouble. Train station is great right across from the new shops and there are always buses coming through.

"An idyllic spot for a tree change"

It is semi-rural, peaceful, safe, picturesque, a gateway to the myriad attractions of the Mornington Peninsula. Close enough to shops and retail therapy, but not too close to the madness! A soothing place to wind down. A lovely spot to invite friends to stay. Gorgeous place to bring up kids. Have lived here for 23 years. The people in the area are friendly and second to none.
