Reviews of Black Hill, NSW

"A good mix of rural and residential"

The area is easy to access but offers a great outlook - plenty of trees and wildlife but still only minutes away from the M1 Motorway and local shopping

Looking for a home in Black Hill?

"Bland Urban Sprawl"

A quiet, leafy, outer western suburb of Newcastle perfect for young families who like large blocks and room to move.

Now the bad;

- Being 20km from the Newcastle CBD expect a 30-40 minute peak hour drive to work of a morning for those working in or around the CBD.

- Public transport in the form of buses run to the Wallsend town centre however to travel to Newcastle CBD / Westfield Kotara / Charlestown Square by bus will take in excess of an hour.

- The nearest shopping centre is located in Maryland and is a 40min round trip on foot (or 2min drive) from the nearest point of Fletcher. Plans exist to construct a shopping centre on the outskirts of the Nikinbah Ridge estate in the future. Nearest Club/Pub or Restaurant involves similar travel times.

- As of 2010 there are no schools within any of the Fletcher subdivisions, so in order to get to school kids will either have to walk/ride on major 60km/h roads or travel by car/bus.

- The Maryland exchange is not ADSL2 enabled as of 2010 meaning slow internet speeds.

"Friendly suburb, quiet , with mixed age group - young familes & retirees"

Lots of parks, leafy bush reserves, good walking area. Excellent school bus transport and walking distance to Bishop Tyrell College or Maryland schools and pre schools. Shopping centres of Jesmond, Wallsend, Maryland minutes away or Green hills only a short drive.
Only approx 3 0 minutes to Williamtown Airport and Sydney to Brisbane Freeway only a few kilometeres away. Close to Newcastle University as well.

Modern young brick homes with underground power and natural gas.
