Lilley's Beach is the only beach that you are able to drive on in Boyne Island/Tannum Sands. Access to Lilley's Beach is off Handley Drive.

Lilley's Beach extends along the coast 1.7 kilometres and may be accessed by Four Wheel Drive only (motorbikes prohibited). It is best to travel at low tide or within 2 hours either side of the low tide. Driving on dune areas is strictly prohibited.

Permits are required prior to accessing Lilley's Beach and must be carried in the motor vehicle at all times whilst in the area. Permits can be purchased online via the Gladstone Regional Council and there is a small annual fee.
