What are good family suburbs within one hour's commute of Brisbane CBD?

They hope to buy a 3-4 bed house or townhouse up to about 500k-550k in a bay side suburb. The children are just coming on to school age, so a decent school system and a good sense of community would be key. Any help MUCH appreciated. Thank you to all!

You can pretty much take your pick of Brisbane bayside suburbs if you are willing to travel up to an hour commute. Wynnum and Manly are both leafy bayside suburbs with a train line and lots of school options. Victoria point is a nice suburb on the water too but no train line out there. You could even go right up to Brighton or Scarborough. Both quite sleepy suburbs on the water. There is a lagoon at Redcliff near Scarborough. I have friends who love living near the water at Scarborough with the kids.
