What are the best areas to live around the Bundaberg/Bargara area?

We are looking at moving up for work and a lifestyle change. Homes are half the price of Brisbane!
What are the best suburbs and pockets? Would be great to live close enough to the beach to walk or a short drive...
Which suburbs should we avoid? We have family in Bargara and Walkervale.

You can't (in my opinion) beat Avondale. Nice, quiet country area with most houses on quarter acre blocks. Access to the Kolan river and only 20 minutes to the city and 15 minutes to the beach (Moore Park Beach). Very reasonably priced still but get in quick as prices are bound to rise. Tavern , school and roadhouse takeaway/groceries. Be smart!

Honestly, there’s not really a bad area in Bundaberg, I love Bundaberg South as it’s got lots of families and is close to the city center but all the areas are nice. Maybe avoid Bundaberg East or right near the rum factory as theres a lot of smoke during sugar cane burning season. Bargara is a little more expensive as it’s full of retirees and families but it’s a bit small for my liking, also Elliot heads is a much nicer beach than Bargara.
