Hi Lillypod, I grew up in Bundoora and moved out not long ago. Bundoora is a very good and sfae place to bring up kids. There are lots of schools, parks and local shopping districts. Spend a couple of hours at the Bundoora shops on Plenty Rd and you will see what kind of people the locals are, gentle, friendly people. I went to Parade College and I can speak very highly of it. There's not much trouble around at all.

Hi Lillypod, Bundoora is as safe as any other area even the best places have troubles but many young families and at least 3 primary schools and a Kindergarten is within 1 km of where I live.

Spend a few hours surveying the area where you want to live including the local amenities. There are 2 enormous parks one Bundoora park in Plenty Road and the other Norris Bank park between McLeans and Settlement Roads and many small playground parks. Parade College is the 4th school and appears to have a very good standard and reputation and the students participate in community projects. Good Luck
