Work in the region

Hi I am thinking of locating the family in the next 12-24months as its always been a dream to come to Queensland to live. Just wondering does anyone know if there is a lot of work for (owner driver with a dump truck) in the Sunshine Coast ? most work would normally be earthworks just carting dirt. Or are we better off moving closer to Brisbane way or the Gold Coast to find work ?

Just after some friendly thoughts. Thank you
Karl

Karl, tonnes of work for owner operators, but where people get all rosey eyed about South East Qld is the cost of living. If you are taking 6k a week, you can devote half of that to living expenses. Road tolls, fuel exise, land taxes, urban utilities, power, gas and water costs are 30 percent more than regional Qld. Now we have a group of people called " Boomerangas ", who move to Qld, decide it's a stinking hot expensive and incredibly overcrowded toad infested hole and move back home or venture further North. If you are a competent operator, you get a FIFO job in the mines and rent on the Sunshine Coast before committing, then make the leap if you love it/ Some people move further north of Noosa to Cooloola, but then you are getting into high crime regions. Yes, Qld is the crime capital and the Government just hasn't caught up with the population boom and addressing the increased crime incidents as a result. I'm often criticized for telling the truth, but I don't want anyone to be caught out. These are facts.

No work here you're better to move to Brissy!!! everyone that sadly lives here has to commute to Brisbane and its a nightmare as the Bruce highway is a carpark!! you will be lucky to get a rental as ppl are homeless here that were renting due to rents double mortgages and housing is thru the roof so you wouldn't buy at this time due to over inflated prices! and interest rates going up. tiny homes jammed into tiny estates and crime rates now high!
