Reviews of Carlisle Crescent, Hughesdale
"Carlisle Crescent"
Carlisle Cres curves around from Kangaroo Rd eventually straightening and ultimately running parallel with railway line until it reaches the Warrigal Rd overpass, which from this point changes its name to Haughton Road.
The Warrigal Rd end can be extremely busy with through traffic and buses during peak periods both in the mornings and late afternoons. The other end, closer to Kangaroo Rd isn't as busy.
Most of Carlisle Cres has a heritage overlay, which has helped to retain its charm and character. The odd non character/ period home has been able to sneak in over time. The majority of homes that are on the northerly side back onto the railway line. A bike track and stretch of greenery form part of border from the houses to the rail track.
The houses are very much Federation style with some sharing driveways, a sign of a bygone era.
Location like much of Hughesdale is very good. Oakleigh or Hughesdale railway stations as well as easy walk to Oakleigh Centro are the stand out features.
Traffic can be a nuisance, otherwise it's a great spot.
