"The “heart” of Brighton"
Well, let me say up front...I live there. But let me give you a few reasons why the heart of Brighton is the best...and that’s Carpenter Street. The Town Hall is typically the centre of a town...here it’s the Wilson st crossing. To the north, it begins at Durrant, just a short walk from Bay Street and North Brighton shops. We head south, along the rail tracks, by the old ironworks and the funeral parlour...towards the town hall and court house. Head further south and pass by the old brewery that once the Premier of Victoria lived in. Almost at Church st, go past the old post office and telephone exchange before ending up at the New street intersection. That’s a lot of history for any one street.
