There is going to be a new suburb in 2015 - West Belconnen, west of Macgregor. About 4,000 houses are planned for construction there, if the approval for expanding the ACT border goes ahead. Near a rubbish tip and electrical substation would mean that they would tend to be cheap... although not all that nasty, being next to Ginnindera Creek.

According the latest numbers, Charnwood is still has the most affordable houses in the ACT with a median price of $380,000 ( current 2/5/2014 ) however the median house price is 4% up on this stage last year, so a median house price of over $400,000 is not far away!

Once considered an outlying suburb of Belconnen, the perception of Charnwood is changing rapidly. Great for investment, first home buyers or people looking for a community feel & proximity to Belconnen CBD Charnwood is fast becoming a popular suburb to live in.
