"The Changing Face of a Suburb"

Since the sell off of the public housing stock Chigwell has improved dramatically. The area is now considered to be a mix between lower and middle class people. It is an now area where cheap housing allows families to afford a better lifestyle with fresh mountain air and bushy surrounds without having to give up the opportunities that city living gives.

It is a great place to live with a real community feel. It has all the basic ammenties needed with other shopping and entertainment needs only a few kilometres away.
Pros
  • Community feel
  • Family Friendly
  • Great place for a Tree change
Cons
  • Public Transport
  • Crime problems
Recommended for

Matt Bob Hi pikac, to elaborate on the crime problems in Chigwell, they mostly stem from poverty and drug use. "Chiggers" as they are called, will often try to steal your car or wallet by snapping a pair of scissors off in you and gutter stomping you to the back of the head ("the Chigwell dental plan"). Other than that, Chigwell (pronounced 'Chigwewl') is a pretty adequate place to live if you can put up with these sorts of things and don't rely on police to come save you. Thanks!
