Reviews of Christensen Street, Machans Beach
"A great place for families"
Machans has a wonderful strong sense of community spirit, from gathering at the local for a cold one to enjoying the Sports Club Christmas Party that they put on for the locals that is fantastic for the kids. If you love fishing, then Machans has it all, a boat ramp at the end of Christensen Street, prawning off the esplanade and of course the Barron River.
Machans is the closest beach to the city and the last beach to be developed. It is 8 minutes to the city and 10 minutes to Smithfield. It is not commercialised like the other beaches, no large blocks of private or tourism unit developments here. It is a small surburb with little room for further development opportunities and a lot of room for visual enhancement opportunities. Many of the original fishing cottages are still there and many people are buying into Machans and renovating. We have found Machans to be a very safe and friendly neighbourhood that is convenient to all amenities.
