It's a great place... I was raised here and my parents are still in the house they built.

are there any bad streets to stay away from?

In Clontarf there are not really 'bad' streets except for traffic noise on Maine Road, Snook Street. You want to go for the closes, the streets with beautiful trees that are quiet as no through traffic. For invest and rent out, something nearer bus lines.
