We like it, only had one sneak breakin in the 12 years, was a bit lax back then. Not far from everything, good for bikes, not so much buses, no traffic jams, a very good state high school in Redcliffe (10 mins). Other schools about medium.
Drive a few mins to waterfront and take walks. Housing low priced or at least it was.

Hi there Claire,
I am from the UK too, been in Brisbane 32 years ......at age 54 I know all the areas very well, in and around Brisbane, south coast, north coast etc
There are a lot of factors to consider when opting to move from the UK ..... the most significant being where you will work.
Unless your retiring of course lol
Anyhow, if you email me or correspond through I am happy to provide advice as best as I can.
PLEASE keep in mind, Brisbane and surrounding suburbs cover a MASSIVE area, public transport is a joke, seriously, unless you live and work close to a train line. So when you choose a suburb to live in you have to consider ALL the other factors.
Perhaps begin by explaining why Clontarf ? Do you have friends there ?
Albert
