How good is childcare and schools in Como?

Como, NSW 2226 is located within the Sutherland Shire local government area, part of the Sydney (Greater) Region in New South Wales.

Looking to relocate from Sydney's eastern suburbs to have more space but we already have good childcare and a good local school here. Nervous about 'starting again' with setting up kids activities, getting into daycare, finding a good school etc Don't know too much about the area.

My daughter is attending Kinder Lane daycare and it is great. You can see from online reviews that the daycares are generally very good, and cheaper than the city. Como west school performs slightly better than Como Public but I have heard both are well-respected primary schools. There's a great Facebook group called Como Community where you can ask questions and the locals are very responsive. We moved 4 months ago from the northern beaches.

Why did you move from NB to the Shire? Im comparing NB and the Shire to determine which is better for growing a family.

We wanted to buy and our budget went much further in the Shire but it had a similar lifestyle. Shorter commute for me, the beach is close and we have the national park. Good schools. If money were no object, I still think I would live here now - I really love it. My husband grew up on NB and prefers it. Public Transport is a lot better here. And it is great to be able to travel down south much easier - there are many beautiful towns and beaches to see.

Appreciate your prompt reply!
