"A Street Divided"
You can access Cooney Street from both Lane Cove Road in the West and Wicks Road in the east, but you can’t drive through. The Catholic Church owns a vast section of land in this area, including that which divides Cooney Street. While there are homes on the street, it is dominated in the east by the grounds of the Holy Spirit Primary School and church grounds, and in the west by the Cox’s Road shopping centre, which backs on to it.
