A volunteer service of CFS and location is further then it would be by the crows fly. Fact is they’re an admirable group of volunteers that are not paid and need to be trained to do their job on the side after working their own real jobs. There is no recommended level of real ability to rely on a volunteer service if you have bushfire zoned house in hills. You should never anticipate CFS can save you in a firestorm or think that will protect you or your home or property from being destroyed. If you are not bushfire ready then you should stay in the mfs covered city or suburbs near beach and stay off the risk of hills and rural. People who don’t make it a conscious choice to be careful and manage land and have fire protection in place and keep up maintaining home preparation for bushfire season and have full insurance protection and don’t make effort to prevent sparks and clean gutters or cut back overhanging trees with sprinklers & fire proof equipment with surplus water to protect against fire are not a good way to try move your ignorantly poor awareness into such places. Stay away from hills it’s a bushfire hazard and your not prepared & risk your life being unaware or thinking CFS will save you at any time if you don’t act think plan and evacuate to survive. It’s hard work being educated on it and it’s hard going to ensure you are safe and as it goes the best plan is stay in your home down the hill with metro resources.
