Reviews of Currie Road, Forestville
"From the highway to the bush"
I have never lived in this street but it is one of the important streets in the journey of my life. I spent seven years going there everyday to school at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Since I left the school has been given a huge facelift and is barely recognisable. I'm sure it's still a good school but it appears so corporate and modern that it's a big intimidating compared with the timber and dirt that I remember.
Currie starts at busy Warringah Road and you wouldn't want to live at this end but then if you progress down to the other end of the street you're in for a big surprise. There's a huge park with bushland stretching all the way down to picturesque Middle Harbour. This street would have been settled in the last '60s and many homes would date from this era though some have been replaced by modern types. It's a lovely street if you're at "the other end". Oh and it's handy if you're a church going Catholic with a large church and the aforementioned school in the middle of the street. You're also only a stone's throw from the recently revamped Forestville shops.
