I'm confused by the comments about Deception Bay.

Is the area around Webster Road a safe and quite are for retires? We are looking to move before the end of the year and have seen some nice over 50's places but we are getting cold feet from negative comments.

The bay is a great place to live! Moved a year ago and love it!

I just figured it out jim. Deception Bay real estate agents must be giving away free pairs of rose tinted glasses at open house (hut) inspections. I bet they're been doing this for years. I mean what a great selling tool to shift hard to sell huts and cabins in a rough suburb.

joy I seriously wouldn't bother with Deception Bay. It's just another awful welfare suburb, cheap rental houses taken up by career dole recipients and junkies and what comes along with that is the drug dealing and undesirable people walking up and down the street day and night. two weeks ago there was a nut case standing on the street outside my flat at 1am in the morning with a shopping trolley and I told him where to go. I am just renting a place here as a stop gap and will be leaving as soon as the cash flow gets better again. I do not have the desire to buy a place in this suburb and never will. On a final note the real estate values are stagnant and don't appear to be growing tie that with a poor bus service, no train station and no real key features in this suburb other than mangroves and swamp.
