"Rural peace and tranquility on the waterfront, about an hour south of Hobart"
We have lived here for 25 years without any regrets. If you seek rural tranquility on the waterfront, good fishing in protected waters, with a small population of friendly people, loads of native wildlife, this is the place for you.
If you are after night-life, urban amenities and shops - go somewhere else!
The current population is predominantly of "mature age", with a scattering of young age families.
The climate is mild and pleasant without the extremes of temperature being experienced elsewhere in Australia. A lot of mature age "climate refugees" are moving in, without regrets.
We do not want to live anywhere else, and will stay until age/health drives us out!
Great for
- Small quiet rural township
- Waterfront fishing and forraging; sheltered harbour and moorings.
- Friendly "natives". Delightful wildlife from quoll to eagle.
Not great for
- No shops, Ferry acces limitations (can be a pro)
