"Beautiful location"

Beautiful location, close to paradise interchange, tranquil with Torrens park not too far away.
Well connected with many shopping options close by.

Friendly neighbourhood with high percentage of owner occupied homes.

"Beautiful suburb with Linear Park on its doorstep"

A green, leafy suburb North East of Adelaide that is a short 12km from the CBD whilst offering nature lovers an abundance of walking & cycling tracks in the beautiful Linear Park Reserve. Kelly Pengilly - First National Real Estate Burton Groves - Property Manager - Tea Tree Gully

"Great suburb"

This is a great suburb, our house is a stone's throw from linear Park, lovely parks and nature walks while still close to public transport and shops, lovely neighbourhood.

You can get lucky and get some lovely views depending on where you're located.

"Fantastic little gem!!"

I have been living there for the last 2 years and loving it!
Kids go to local school which are great with dedicated staff and teachers.

Linear Park at your door step and CBD is 10 Min using the Obahn.

People are friendly and it is very quiet.

Still feels like a nice relaxed place among overly commercial suberbs around.

"Leafy suberb"

Pros:
Leafy suberb, quite and family oriented.
Located along linear Park and not too far (few mins) walk to paradise Interchange (without it being actually in Dernancourt).

Great primary school, with shopping malls like Gilles Plains about, speciality shops, Dan Murphy and many more only 5 mins drive.

The suburb itself is leafy with some mixed houses of old and new, with new houses popping up more frequently now, nice views of hills and linear pRk in some spots.

Most of the houses are owner occupied (that is a good thing) so it's not a transitional area like some of the adjacent suburbs. Eg. Windsor Gardens & Holden Hill.

As the suburb dsnt lead anywhere, no one usually drives there unless they're living or visiting which gives it a bit more exclusive feel.

Cons:
Council is TTG, so rates are sky high, for not a lot in terms of services. Some part of dernancourt is under Port Adelaide enfield and seems to be providing the same services for half the price.
The kids playgrounds (aside from palmoral) are old & outdated.
Outside of paradise Interchange service, the buses don't go pass lions road.

"A nice leafy suburb that is quiet and tranquil"

Neatly sandwiched between North East and Lower North East Rds which have plenty of shopping and public transport, including multiple feeder bus options to the O-Bahn.

it is not a suburb you tend to enter unless you live or know someone there. Very windy backstreets and multiple dead ends (due to the number of roads that end at the river or the OBahn busway), which eliminates a lot of passing traffic

The area is serviced by plenty of shopping centres with the 2 big major supermarkets no more than a 5 minute drive. Ample small businesses - plenty of car servicing and car parts places on NE Rd, gyms, fast food, takewaway of all variety etc.

Linear Park runs right through Dernancourt - an awesome getaway for a walk, run or a place for your dogs to exercise. Well lit at night.

A real patchwork of houses - from the very basic 3 bedroom to architectural masterpieces with adjoining tennis courts. Search and you will find a wide variety of house values, all nestled right next to each other.

Without doubt on the law of averages, the finer houses tend to be nestled closer to the Linear Park frontage and adjoining streets.

Disappointments:
A long way from the Hampstead Telstra exchange so ADSL is at best about 2.5Mbps speed (of a 24Mbps service) unless you go cable.
Predominantly based in the City of Tea Tree Gully Council where their rates are incredibly high (by any standard) for anyone with an above average council valuation. Be aware some riverside properties and streets in the very SW part of the suburb are in the Port Adelaide/Enfield Council which I would expect would mean the council rates are considerably more affortable.

No easy cut through way to get to Gorge Rd, Athelstone, Newton etc - you are forced back down to George St where Paradise Motors is situated. (on the intersect of Campbelltown council)

Great for

  • Good Public Transport
  • Large block sizes
  • Leafy and Green

Not great for

  • Cost of Council Rates
  • Poor Fixed Line Internet Speeds

"Beautiful suburb with easy access to Linear park"

There are some absolutely huge gums in Dernancourt. The suburb runs down towards the river so it is all on a slope. For me the area is great. Being close to the upper end of Linear Park, there are plenty of places to walk run or cycle and there is a good chance you’ll see a bit of native wildelife. The streets are well lined with trees and peoples gardens are well maintained.

There are some nice houses in the area, including some more attractive cream brick houses.
The houses are on good sized blocks giving you plenty of room to move.

Public transport is ok, but being a reasonable distance from the city there isn’t as much coverage of a lot of areas and it can take a little while. The trip back down to the city is pretty easy by car.
