"Travel the Historic Convict Trail"
Derwent Park is located about 6 kms north west of Hobart. It is in the main a light industrial and commercial area. Buildings of significant in the area which form part of the Convict Trail include the Derwent Park Homestead which is now located in Lutana. It has historical significance and has been put on the Register of the National Estate. The original homestead was built in the 1820s but it was burnt down in 1864 and was rebuilt around the same time. It is an area of historical significance and well worth a visit.
