Reviews of Derwent Street, Box Hill North
"Quiet and Leafy But so handy for Families. Solid investment."
Derwent Street is made up of predominantly 1950s weatherboard homes, many of which have been renovated and extende in more recent years. There are also a couple of modern townhouse developments but no more than 2 units on any block which maintains the family orientation of the street. Being a short street that only leads between Elgar Road and Olympiad Crescent means that there is very little traffic that is not "local", so again fairly quiet and family friendly. The bus to Box Hill Central or City via either the Eastern Freeway or Belmore Road through Kew is on the corner, at Elgar Road. Schools are so handy with Box Hill North Primary, Koonung Secondary, Box Hill Senior Secondary College all within comfortable walking distance. Box Hill TAFE and the hospital are also very close by. It's a great family area and has performed very well in terms of capital growth. A great example of this growth is number 4, which I sold in 1995 for $106,500 increased by 500% when I sold it again in 2008 and a further 20% between 2008 and 2010.
