Similar towns to Dicky Beach?

Has anyone been anywhere similar in Australia to Dicky Beach? We adore the area but property prices are just out of reach for us! We love the small, surfy, relaxed vibe there with plenty of tree lined streets and walkways. Anywhere by the beach is pricey but are there any quieter towns similar anywhere along the NSW/QLD coast to check out? We want walking distance to beach but under 800k.
Have checked out Harvey Bay but town was a bit old. Cheers from a relocated kiwi family!
