It's getting there slowly.
It's location is better than southbank in regards to getting onto city Link to all the freeways.
It's not a suburb for night life and hustle and bustle. If you want all that then southbank with the casino and restaurants and bars is for you.
Docklands is quiet, relaxed waterfront suburb. It's good for families who want to downsize and have everything Melbourne city has to offer on their doorstep.

Hi Steve, I was wondering which apartment building you are in or recommend as I'm looking to rent in docklands but want to avoid noise / crappy apartment builds and from all your comments it seems like your building is gold.

Yes, from where it was to now and with heaps more potential to go .... where else can you get so close to the water and enjoy both the convenience of city life, evening walks, primary school, and well suited to transit to a young family .... rather live in Docklands now than busy/noisy place like Southbank, St Kilda, etc... before being build-out and gets pricey in years to come ... Represent a good investment too (during Covid is an exception) ....

Based on what criteria? It's very much a business district that no one really wants to work in, but many large companies do because of how cheap the rent is compared to the CBD. I wouldn't want to live there either because Docklands has such a cold feel about it.
