Single parent, moving to Melbourne in May

Hi Guys, I have 6.5 yr old son, my job location is docklands, Victoria. I am looking for a safe and affordable suburbs which is close to docklands and also has good public schools.
As I need to manage work and pick/drop my son to school (I don't drive). I am totally depending on the public transportation.

I can't afford the rent more than $350 per week and Max $370. Please suggest the suburbs.

I’d say st kilda but because you don’t drive that would be a bit hard. St kilda doesn’t have great public transport and docklands isn’t an easy place to get to as it has no train station nearby
