Dubbo is known for its beautiful parks and gardens and passionate pursuit of recreational activities.

Well-serviced playing fields and amenities extending over 60.7 hectares (150 acres) cater for more than 120 sporting and interest groups including all codes of football, cricket, netball, hockey, cycling, horse racing, equestrian activities, Parkrun, bushwalking and bird watching.

The city has a champion level golf course, a variety of bowling and tennis clubs, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, martial arts and dance studios, and dedicated tracks for karting, BMX and mountain biking.

The beautiful Macquarie River flows through the centre of the city providing picturesque locations for fishing, swimming, kayaking and picnicking.

Nearby Burrendong Dam – one of the largest waterways in inland NSW – is popular for water skiing, boating, fishing and camping.
