Edgewater is a nice northern neighborhood in Chicago that's pretty safe and quiet, and while I might prefer a bit more exciting area, it certainly has it's charm. It's good for singles. Just not great.

I think so. Edgewater has plenty to do, but is a bit quieter than many parts of the city. If you want to be in the middle of the action, you might prefer downtown, but Edgewater is one of my favorite neighborhoods.
