Looking for a home in Eli Waters?

"Eli Waters - Friendly and relaxed"

We have lived here for nearly nine years now. We only intended staying for a year or two between moves but it's such an easy place to live the time just slipped by and we are still here. I know there are a few streets where there are more renters than owners and there have been a few problems with kids and noise but you can get that anywhere. Mainly, people here are very friendly and helpful, there is a great shopping centre nearby, schools and good medical facilities. We have no problems with sand flies or mozzies and have good mobile reception and internet access. Housing is cheap and you can live on the water for well under $500,000.

Great for

  • Close to all amenities
  • Friendly
  • Waterfront - peace and quiet

"Love Mariners Cove"

We built our home (water front) in Eli Waters / Mariners Cove 4 years ago. We have lovely neighbours and it's peaceful and quiet. It's close to schools, and for those with children going to schools out of the area, there is a bus service. Shops are close-by. With wireless and 3g, internet is no problem. We don't get much traffic; the busiest times would be drop off and pick up of children from school. If you want a quality built house you can still buy one, although rare, on the lake for under 500k which is an absolute bargin.

We are looking at buying a home on the canals but I am concerned about reports of midges as I'm allergic to them. Do you have any problems?

"Lovely place"

We have enjoyed living in Eli Waters. We have really enjoyed the beach and the waterfront especially the walks. Many lovely walks. Nice people. Not small town mentality. Great public Hospital. Lots of jobs coming with the new Private Hospital being built. Good pubs too. Schools are fine. private schools are fine too. Great house value- living on the water for a small price- yeay- gotta love that.

Rentals in Eli Waters

"Eli Waters - Hervey Bay"

i've had both good and bad experiences in eli waters.. depending on the neighbours we have but at the moment we have kids playing on the street all the time who like to play chicken with cars, and like to be rude, swear and be out all times of night. i've had my gate opened and our dog let out, wooden steaks with nails hanging out of it thrown over our fence, rubbish left all over the street. random dogs always wandering the streets, which i've been chased and nipped by on more than one occasion. also heard of car break ins and had cars damaged.
There is some nice places to walk and ride, not really any parks for young children to play. Close to Xavier, probably the only decent school in Hervey Bay. I love the fact of being 5-10 minutes from the beach :) it's a shame how many scummy people have moved here though.. lots of ferals in crappy commodores who like to sit on centrelink and pop out dozens of kids :/ not many job or study opportunities..

"Wonderful place for families, baby boomers and elderly - great for all"

Wonderful place to live- especially on the lake. I couldnt believe we could afford a 4 bedroom home on the lake for under $500,000. Gold Coast would be $1M. Earl Saint Vincent Circuit is a wonderful street to live.

"Great place to rent, great for kids"

Issue with broadband internet. There are NO available ports left in the area, and this does not matter what ISP you try to use - they all use Telstra's physical lines. The only way you can get broadband interent is if you go on a list and wait for someone to move out! Ridiculous in a suburb so close to the city.

Secondly, 3g access is almost non-existant, so don't think you can depend upon 3g wireless internet, or even mobile phones for the most part. I have to go out into the street to get any access on my phone.
