Reviews of Gayndah, QLD

"Authentic country town"

Gayndah is a neat and tidy country town. People are friendly. Facilities: everything a family would need for day-to-day living. Love the peaceful chilled-out vibe of the town. Stress levels drop noticeably! The hotels are great for meals and drinks. If you are looking for a nice town to raise your family in and affordable housing, then check out Gayndah.

"Layed back Gayndah"

Im staying in Gayndah for work right now and the little town is just so layed back. No traffic and surrounded by large hills and a nice flowing river. The people all seem very nice aswell and great service from the local motels.

"Living here & Loving it!"

I've been living in Gayndah for just over 2 years & I don't think I'll ever live anywhere else. Coming from the city it's so refreshing to live in a place where peak hour doesn't exist & driving 2 minutes out of town your are either surrounded by orchards or scenic grazing land. There are plenty of shops, with 2 butchers, 2 bakers, 2 primary schools, a high school, TAFE, hospital & retirement village. There are also a variety of clothing & other stores as well as industries including agriculture, orchards (which bring fruit-pickers annually), timber & some mining. The Burnett River runs through the centre of town and we also have the oldest race course in QLD (with 2 meetings a year), as well as our bi-annual Orange Festival which draws people from all over the place. What suprised me when I first moved here is the number of younger people here, the night life seems to be good & the entire town seems to welcome new people exceptionally. We are only 1.5 hours to Hervey Bay & Bundy & there's a great little waterskiing spot close by - Mingo Crossing, where you can water ski, have a picnic or BBQ on a weekend. A simply great place to live - or visit!

"Just Passing Through"

Well Gayndah has a great hill lookout position, complete with acrvings and graffiti, but not so bad for that. From the lookout you get a great plan view of the town - if you are thinking of buying here then get up to the viewpoint with some binos and you can get the complete up front and personal view of your potential neighbours!

Right, its a good town - possibly the oldest in Qld - in the country style but each time I stop here its like I am in a time warp, think 1955 or so milk bars and when I go in a cafe its just there - I mean you have to go into Gayndah's cafes because as much as this pom has driven in Oz its still an experience - Now note I didn't say good or bad so just go try it.

All across town are neat tidy homes, presumably occupied by neat tidy people.
