Reviews of Gem Road, Kenmore
"Door Knocking on Kenmore Road"
Today I walked the length of Kenmore Road to simply say good
afternoon to our Kenmore Road residents. I was delighted to hear of so many different stories and learn of families in many and
varied stages of life; from those who are renting to those who have been living in their Kenmore home for over 50 years.
I learned that 50 years ago, Kenmore Road was of course a dirt road. I learned that you could purchase a property on
Kenmore Road for around 300 pounds and that the Westside of the road was all acreage.
Thank you for sharing your stories with me.

"Kenmore road"
Kenmore road is a long winding road that snakes through the centre of Kenmore. Back in the fifties it was famous for having a large gum tree positioned in the centre of the road and the road went around it. There are some beautiful homes on the street most notibly 64 Kenmore Road which was originally built in 1952 and was on 12 acres of land. This property was subdivided back in the seventies and was bought by a well know architect in the area called Griffin and Knowlman. Many of the homes built by them still exist in the area today and they were responsible for building the Kenmore gardens estate from the land they bought from the original number 64 Kenmore Road. The road can be abit busy at times but the character of Kenmore can definately be found driving along it.
