"Quite suburb with great parks, close to the CBD"

We've lived here for 2 years now and we're in love with the neighbourhood.
Our neighbours are polite and welcoming and although we live in a standalone dwelling we feel very comfortable and safe.
The lack of a train station may be an issue for some but the bus and ferry options are very convenient. The CBD is a quick drive, 15 min non-peak.
The parks and riverside walking tracks make this a great place to call home.

"GLADESVILLE MID POINT OF SYDNEY CITY"

Gladesville is Sydneys greatest suburb. Less then 10km to the city and approximately the same distance to the city of Parramatta and Maquarie Park. The olympic precinct is also in very close proximity. There are great private and public schools close by and gladesville has some great open spaces and boarders the water. One of my favourite water walks is found at Bill Mitchell park. Gladesville has great neighbors including the vibrant Top Ryde and Hunter Hill only minutes away. If you want to reside in the centre of Sydney close to everything Gladesville needs to be the place to live in.

"Cute little town but so close to the city"

My family moved in since I was born, Gladesville has always been a cute little town full of good restaurants and cafes, lovely community and banks, shops and Coles. The bus systems are extremely practical and take you everywhere from Top Ryde Shopping Centre to the Sydney city CBD. The environment is very safe, and quiet. There is a lot of grassland and water. The only downside is the price-it is getting fairly expensive to live here. Gladesville is generally a very good neighborhood that is both convenient and quiet.

Great for

  • Close to city and great parts of Sydney
  • Fantastic cafes and restaurants
  • Great culture and friendly people

Not great for

  • It's becoming more expensive every year to buy a house because people want to live here

"Business strip too busy and dirty"

Can you elaborate please

That's just about the dumbest comment I've ever heard. What does it even mean? If it's busy it just means it's vibrant and well utilised. Dirty? I drive through it every day and I've never seen anything that made me think it was dirty.

Strongly disagree. Victoria road gets busy but the road is cleaner than Parramatta Rd or the Pacific Highway or other horrible bigger Rd. In addition catching the bus to the city is fast and picturesque. This suburb is a hidden gem.

"The place to be"

Gladesville has it all! Plenty of Gyms to choose from, the swimming centre is enormous and has another private pool with gym next door, Gladesville has many great parks for dogs and families, it has great bushwaks in the national park and simple picnic parks on the water with fantastic sunsets. There are great cafes' and restaurants where it's actually nice food and coffee. It's an ideal suburb for families and/or singles, close to the city and any other interesting part of Sydney, great public transport (no station, but buses run until very late and there are plenty), and the streets are super safe! Gladesville has a good balance of cultures, without overpowering that good old australian spirit :)

"Nice suburb that is close to the city"

Gladesville is a nice suburb that is located about ten kilometres north Sydney. There are no trains around this area and residents have to mainly rely on buses to get into the city. The buses run along Victoria Road and during peak hours, this road gets very congested. It will be a good idea to give yourself extra travel time during peak hours. Another alternative, albeit more expensive option, will be to travel via the ferry to the city.

There are many nice houses, townhouses and apartments around this area. The streets are not unusually narrow and provides easy access into and out of Gladesville. There are many shops, cafes and restaurants along Victoria Road. This makes it quite a convenient suburb to live in. I would recommend this suburb to those who do not mind getting to the city by bus.
