Reviews of Glass House Mountains, QLD

"Small town with just enough facilities"

Right on the rail line so good access to the city. Property prices still reasonable for large residential lots in the town. Larger rural properties further out. Great primary school and two daycares in town.

The little town centre has a few essential shops, bakers, butchers, bottle shop, pub, post office, pharmacy, doctors, hairdressers, vet and newsagents.

Larger supermarkets, secondary schools and swimming pool 10mins away in beewah, then you have Caboolture or Caloundra 30mins away with the big box stores like bunnings.

Visitors can be a pain, flocking to the local mt ngungun walk and turning Steve Irwin way into a carpark on a Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. After a little exploring you'll find a few secret quiet walks!

"A great place to raise a family"

I lived at Glass house mountains for 2 years when I was a kid, and I must admit the best time of my life. Living in a house where you can see the mountains from your back yard is so peacefull not mention the wild life on your front door step.

Everyone knows one and over and the people are just so nice. Great place to raise a family away from the citch and crime.

"Bliss @ Bribie Island"

I did not know about Bribie Island until the started advertising properties for sale called Pacific Harbour. The island has a population cap and has waterfront, beach and golf front properties! It is a lovely place although requires those working in the city to have to travel one hour each way. Better for those that work from home or are retirees

Rentals in Glass House Mountains

"Glass House Mountains - Majestic even from a distance."

You will see the Glass House Mountains long before you get there. Situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland west of Caloundra the Glass House Mountains are a majestic sight. Mountain biking, mountain running and abseiling are all popular here. For those who like to take things a little easier enjoy some of the many walks, partake in some estuary fishing or just enjoy the scenery. Stay at a guest house, B & B, motel, camping ground or one of the lodges in the area, all offering great accommodation or stay in Caloundra in a luxurious hotel. Property prices in the area are moving up but it is still possible to get into the market.

"family holiday without the hassle"

When I was a girl my parents would pack up the car and we'd drive the six hours south from Gladstone to holiday in Bribie Island. At the time I cursed my dads' reluctance to try anywhere else and his sentimentalism over this place that he holidayed at when he was a boy. Now that I have small people of my own, I get the reason we went there. It was affordable, close to brissy and the sunshine coast and it was safe. None of these things have changed in the past 30 odd years. Pumicestone Passage is still a beaut place for little ones to splash around in, the carnival still cruises into town in the summer holidays, affordable rental can still be found and with new and better classes of highways, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast are even more accessible. It's a great QLD holiday spot.

"Bribie Island - Ideal Spot close to Brisbane"

Bribie Island is connected to the mainland by bridge and is about a 45 mins drive from Brisbane Airport and the many amenities of Brisbane CBD yet you have the relaxed holiday feel all year round. Situated in Moreton Bay, Bribie Island offers white sandy beaches and clear water. Dolphin, Dugong and Turtles inhabit these waters as well as other native wildlife in the surrounding bush. Swim, bird watch or enjoy the cafes and bistros on offer. For the visitor there are accommodation options to suite all budgets and taste. For those thinking of relocating to Bribie Island median house prices are relatively good considering the closeness to the capital.
