"Quiet leafy street"

Quiet leafy street. 8mins walk from metro station and the main strip of Marrickville. Gentrification on the rise

"Rough but cheap"

I lived here for three years. The steady police presence says it all it’s not exactly quiet, but it is well-monitored. There’s plenty of noise from people who are more high than hostile loud, but usually harmless. Definitely keep your car locked; there’s a guy who goes around testing doors. As my neighbour liked to say, it’s a great place to get rid of things leave a bike outside and it’ll vanish in minutes. Occasionally someone might charge at your car, but at the end of the day could be worse

"Never Seen Or Heard Any Problems"

I have lived on Glen Street for 5 to 10 days in 2014 and Feb 2024 when I was renovating my apartment and did not see or hear any problems. Any time I go there to see my Unit Complex it is a very quite peaceful area. I always had tenants in there and from 2003 to 2024 all my 6 different tenants never made any complaints about the unit block or street and a few have said they like it here. It is near the Private Charity Church Association's Apartment Complex (it is not NSW Housing) whom help people who have problems and the people who are allowed to live in there must complete a course and must be sane. I have walked around in there 3 times without any incident. its a nice quite complex and the Street is no longer the late 80's mid 90's drug infested area any more. On Glen St. I see office and Uni students walking off to Uni and work in the morning and many are well dressed. I like the sit down Delicatessen eatery around down Harnett street and Greek cake and pastry shop across the road from Woolworths which they are a 5 minute walk and there is a few good eateries on Illawarra Road, South Marrickville, and the train station is 15 minutes walk and of course the best of Marrickville it's close to Newtown, Enmore, The City and only 20 minutes to Australia's famous icon, Bondi Beach.
