There is now a Glenelg Yacht Club... it is very new and is for boat owners at the Patawalonga (Holdfast Quays Marina). It is very new and is really just still being set up.... expected to be fully operational around early March 2019.
Purpose of the club is provide a social scene for the boat owners and to promote sailing.

Adelaide Sailing Club is the closest. Adelaide Sailing Club was created as a result of a merger of Glenelg Sailing Club and Holdfast Bay Sailing Club in the late 90's. Other clubs close by are Somerton Yacht Club, Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club and Henley Sailing Club.
Hi Misc_nerd, There once was a Sailing club next to the old Bay car park which is now the Marina, the best and closest sailing club is in West Beach
