What makes living in Glenwood attractive?

We are recent buyers in Glenwood and our attractions and reasons are as follows.

We wanted;

to buy within a budget within our retirement nest egg so we limited ourselves to $400K (20% of our egg) house and land complete
a large elevated but easily managed block 5000m2 mostly level or slightly undulating and flood free
to build a new home for maintenance free living ( or as little as possible on the dwelling) and little or no ongoing costs
new because new is new and when we sell - it will be more attractive being a younger house and we didn't want to renovate or move another house again - we're over those hassles and hidden costs
a nature block that we could improve with selective manicured plantings over time and introduce our own features like water fountain, hedgerows and palm groves etc
a place to grow fresh vegies and herbs, run a few chooks n ducks.
the space to be able to build a nice big shed or 2 and for a potential granny flat for the relatives to come stay in
good approachable neighbours. We spoke to all adjoining parties and they were very helpful with info and commentary
good access to local tradies of which there are plenty who live and work here as well as working in Bundy, Gympie Maryborough etc who wanted to work on local projects to help us build economically
Peace and quite which is in abundance
a nice street to talk walks along and take in the varied scenery
close (30mins) proximity health services / hospital if required
close proximity to schools (for future buyers)
close proximity to the coast either - Fraser, Hervey Bay, Tin Can or Rainbow Beach
access to farmers for farm to plate processing - there are plenty of produce sellers locally, meat, fruit and veg. Excellent quality and tastes of old sunday lamb roast like they used to taste

We found Fraser Coast Council easy to work with in our research and stage but used a local certifier for ease of build management.
We visited the area many times in advance of purchasing on weekends and weekdays at various times to see the local coming and goings and observe the village lifestyle generally. We liked what we saw and interacted with.
We identified the area as a growth suburb based on proximity to major towns, road access, population growth, demographic changing from 50+ to younger buyers - so that suited our plans to make a capital gain on selling our house down the track.
It felt good to us in our gut and we might be older but the gut still is a good indicator.

I love Glenwood because it quiet and peaceful. The nature and air quality is top notch. If I want the buzz of life there's plenty of options to choose from nearby. But I've had my fill of city life and I prefer this a hell of a lot more now. No stress, no worries here. The people are great, when I moved here with the family we felt very welcomed by our neighbours, and there is a surprising amount of people offering local services such as tradies or other things.
Honestly its the best place I've ever lived, and I've been around a lot of Australia and Europe.
