Moving to Harrington Grove - Rural?

We are relocating from Brisbane to this area, people are telling me I am moving to the sticks and should try further into the city and into civilisation, I grew up in Narellan, went to school there and feel it has developed a lot since I left Sydney in 2002, does anyone feel like they are living in the country out there? How are crime rates etc? I feel they would be worse moving closer to the city. Honest opinions welcome please! :-)

Not rural anymore. all housing developments taking place around Harrington Park now. Harrington Grove is an extension of Harrington Park. it has larger blocks and larger homes. The Grove also has a Country Club, pool, tennis courts for its residents; which of course you pay strata for.
Narellan area is great to live in. Crime is not a huge issue. New lockout laws in Sydney means crime in areas like Marrickville has increased dramatically.
