Help from Healesville locals please - what is it like?

We are thinking of moving from Queensland to Healesville. We are retired and want to live in a quiet place but not too far from Melbourne so it looks perfect. What is the current situation with regard to medical facilities? Is it expensive to insure your house due to the fire risk? Is there a more desirable area to live? I'm not being snobby, by desirable I mean quieter and more peaceful. We don't want to have a lot of traffic noise, barking dogs or noisy teenagers. Can anyone give us any more information that might make our decision to move easier? Thanks.
