"Best Beach in Adelaide?"

Henley is by far the most versatile and all round suburb in South Australia! ( IMO ) That's quite a big call but let me explain!

What a position! Close to the City, West Lakes or Glenelg! Not to mention the fantastic beach!
Enjoy a coffee with friends and family in one of the many cafe's looking over the water.

Traffic is a problem in summer down the coast but if you're in the burbs you shouldn't find this an issue. I love the pine trees smothering the roads and providing great shade. Henley has many great schools in it's vicinity and the children will love playing on one of Adelaide's most beautiful beaches!

The Rams Gate and The Sandbar are really fun to go down and party on a Friday night. Let me say no more and just learn to love this amazing suburb!

Great for

  • Nightlife
  • Beautiful beach
  • Close to everything!

Not great for

  • Expensive
  • Parking in summer

"A great spot for beachside living but close to the CBD"

The popular seaside suburb of Henley Beach is just a 15 minute drive to the west of the Adelaide CBD. Easily accessed by public transport, Henley Beach is a lovely spot to be based all year round.

There is the full range of houses huge modern numbers on the waterfront, renovated old villas and lovely bungalows a few streets back. Prices rise very rapidly the closer you get to the sea. There are also some small apartment blocks and units in the area offering good value rental prices, so a number of students choose to live here.

Henley Square is the hub of this suburb, offering a range of ice-cream shops, cafes and great restaurants (including Stella which serves delicious Italian, Jasmine which serves amazing Thai and Estia which is one of SAs best Greek restaurants).

Hugely popular in summer, traffic along the Esplanade can hit a standstill and finding a park or a seat in one of the many restaurants can be close to impossible.

"Just follow the Norfolk Pines to one of the best suburbs around"

The area has definitely exploded since the 90s but remains a fantastic part of the world. The hum of the place during summer is legendary with all the eateries and venues. Parking around Henley Square is scarce on sunny days so it pays to have a secret spot. Living there is still a breeze with public transport and shops all easily accessible and a number of sought after schools within the zone.

"Great schools, Family friendly area with superb beaches"

Henley Beach has got to be one of the best value for money beach-side metropolitan suburbs in Australia. Approximately 10kms to the city of Adelaide & 10 minutes to the airport, (without being under the flight path) Henley Beach really can enjoy the 'ten minute city' rule. Glenelg - 10 minutes, West Lakes - 10 Minutes, some of the finest public and private schools can be found in Henley Beach, Sporting facilities, Torrens River Linear Park, shopping, dining, pubs.......
Aside from being close to some great amenities, you can't discuss Henley Beach without mentioning the superb beaches & crystal clear waters. Great for families, there is hardly ever surf at Henley Beach & the surf life saving club does a tremendous job patrolling the beaches during peak times. The beach is kept clean & locals are very good at doing the right thing with their dog mess.
Henley Beach enjoys a good mix of property styles & ranges of price tags. You can get a $250,000 unit up to a $2.5m Beach front beauty and everything in between. There are a good amount of large, conventional housing blocks available in Henley Beach and the streets are largely very quiet during the night.
Henley Square provides a good mix of eating, drinking, coffee, ice-cream and a bit of shopping. Enough to entertain the family for a Sunday.

Being a local, I might be a bit biased, but once you move to Henley Beach, you won't want to leave!

"Great Place to Live"

Henley has the best of every thing. The beach lifestyle and pace but only 9 km's from the CBD. Great recreation facilities and cafes. Breathe in the sea air and listen for the local birds. Away from the main strip, the locals love what we have on our doorstep. Parks, sand, great people, great place to live.
Many residents on my street have lived in the street or the area for over 40 years - doesn't that say it all.
Just love Henley - just don't tell too many people - it can be our secret.
There are 2 types of people, thoses that live in Henley and those that want to!!!!!!!!
