Herne Hill, WA 6056

Herne Hill is a bit out of Perth, but not too far from Midland - so there is not a feeling of isolation. In winter it is lovely and green, with views to the hills. It is a great spot for horses and many properties are set up with stables and dressage 'arenas' for children to practice their hobby. Most properties are quite large but there is a section of smaller ''suburban'' houses which are quite sought after. There is not a great deal of services in terms of doctors and the like - you need to head to Midland for all that or the suburbs on the way to there. But there is a primary school, which is handy to save travelling for little kids. If you are looking for a bit of country while still being close to the city - Herne Hill is your place.
