When a person with a certificate of registration signs an agency agreement they do so on behalf of the licensee in charge of the office. It is a delegated responsibility. If the certificate holder does not execute the document properly the licensee will be responsible. If the certificate holder acts dishonestly both the certificate holder and the licensee may be held liable. Fair Trading imposes serious fines and or disqualification for any person acting dishonestly or negligently, even if they do so without fully understanding the law.
