I disagree with StBloomSF's assessment that Ingleside Terrace's crime rate is comparable to the Mission's. Ingleside Terraces is one of the safest neighborhoods in the city!
In terms of burglaries and thefts, they're low, and on par with its sister neighborhood: Balboa Terrace.
As for assaults, they too are low, and mainly occur around Ocean Ave: the commercial corridor, dividing Ingleside Terrace and Balboa Terrace.
The only real "safety" concern is for your pets, because of the coyotes.
I would say that it is relatively below average in terms of safety. It doesn't get a lot of reports of crime, but when you take into account the relatively small populartion (only about 2500 people live there), then relative number of crimes is comparable to the Mission--crimes here are mostly non-violent however. More burgleries than assaults.
