The JCC is the best gym in the city (on California and Presidio). It's a short bus or even walk from the Inner Richmond. The amenities are clean and modern and they offer tons of yoga, pilates, cycling and fitness classes. After joining this gym, I would never go anywhere else.

The YMCA on 18th Ave (between Geary and Clement) is great. It's a smaller facility since it's a neighborhood branch, but there still is lots of equipment. The classes (yoga, aerobics, boot camp, etc) are wonderful, especially since they're all included in your monthly fee. The staff there are super duper nice, too.
