Is Katoomba a fire prone area?

Katoomba and in fact all of the Blue Mountains are surrounded by beautiful natural bushland and a World Heritage National Park. As a result there is some bushfire risk in all areas of the blue Mountains. Katoomba is fire prone, however not every street in Katoomba is a high risk area. You can go to the Blue Mountains City Council web-site and look at their map search facility to see how fire prone particular addresses are. See the link below;
